Committees

Every semester, we organize events and activities for over 1500 students. Joining our team as a committee member will allow you to broaden your network and gain experience in working within a professional, internationally oriented organization. You will get the opportunity to meet people from all over the world, and, last but not least: have a whole lot of fun! Become part of the ESN AmsterFam!

Activity Committee (ActCom)

Join the Activity Committee and play a key role in enhancing the student experience through cultural and wellness activities. We’re the team that keeps ESN Amsterdam buzzing: planning everything from international getaways, to parties & outings, to meaningful volunteering projects. We bring students together across Amsterdam, organise adventures near and far. And yes, we also make sure the pre-drinks at Coco’s Outback are unmissable!

Howdy! I’m a Japanese + American Econ student at the UvA. While not the most athletic, I’m excited to meet and play some fun sports with y’all. Go Ajax!

I am Julia, second year European Studies student from Poland, interested in modern history, music (techno/house) and design. I am a part of International Culture Committee since last September, hope to see you around 🙂 I also like boxing and playing tennis so hit me up if you're up for a sparing!

SocialErasmus Committee

Join the Social Erasmus Committee and play a key role in helping international students give back to the city they now call home. We’re the team behind ESN International’s Social Erasmus and Erasmus in Schools projects here in Amsterdam: organising volunteering activities like language villages at schools, Christmas decorating at nursery homes, and shifts at soup kitchens, so exchange students can connect with local communities, not just with each other. We’re always looking for new ideas, from a charity runs, to projects around ExchangeAbility, mobility, or diversity!

PR Committee

The Public Relations Committee is all about photos, design, videos and social media. As part of the PR Committee, together with the PR Coordinator you are responsible for designing all visuals and maintaining the social media of ESN Amsterdam. So if you love taking pictures, making videos, creating beautiful reels, making promotional texts, creating amazing promotional material or designs, join this committee and be part of the growing network of ESN Amsterdam!

I am Chia-Ai, you can call me Ellie. I am from Taiwan, currently studying in the Bachelor's of Communication Science at the UvA. My hobbies include journalism and playing ultimate frisbee. I also enjoy doing social media management and content creation which is why I am now a part of the ESN Amsterdam PR, Graphics and Reporter Committee.

Hi! My name is Ngoc and I'm 21 years old. I’m currently studying User Experience Design at the HvA as an exchange student. Coming from Germany but having Vietnamese parents, I got to grow up in different cultures, thus have always loved to meet people from around the world. And that’s what led me to join the ESN. As for my passion for photography, I’ll make your experiences last forever!

I’m from Poland and I’m in my first year of economics & business economics studies. I love snowboarding and thrift shopping and I’m interested in photography and graphic design. I can also be your go-to person if you need new pasta-based recipes:)

Partnerships Committee

In the Partnerships Committee you’ll be responsible for: finding and securing new partnerships for ESN Amsterdam, reaching out to businesses, building collaborations and of course, having a lot of fun together! We’ll also have weekly meetings to discuss what we’ve accomplished and plan next steps. What you’ll gain from it: real-world experience! Hands-on practice with scouting partnerships and connecting with different companies, and of course – chance to help grow and enrich the partnerships of ESN Amsterdam!

Hi! My name is Haris Awan and I’m a fourth year student at the AUAS where I study International Business. While interning at a company focused on sales, I knew that I wanted to continue doing this at a place where I can be creative, therefore ESN Amsterdam was the best place for me to do so. I’m born and raised in Amsterdam, while my parents are from Pakistan. In my free time, I participate in all kinds of sports such as powerlifting, running, and basketball. I’m thrilled to be part of ESN Amsterdam and positively impact this organization.

Internal Relations Committee

Behind every strong team is someone who cares about the people in it. Be that someone! Join our Internal Relations Committee. This team is responsible for planning and executing the bonding events for the committee members and volunteers of ESN Amsterdam. We’re looking for connectors, communicators, and community-builders.

Integration Committee

The Integration Committee together with the Integration Coordinator is responsible for organising everything surrounding the Buddy program and local culture. This included anything from relationship management with the local buddies to hosting the Dutch movie nights. All this to help students break out of their international bubble! This committee plays a vital role in promoting inclusion, intercultural exchange, and a welcoming atmosphere for all students in Amsterdam.

Hey, my name is Sol. I'm currently a second year Economics student at UvA. I'm Peruvian, but I've been living in the Netherlands for over 15 years now. My hobbies include writing, dancing and gaming. I also have a big passion for travelling and learning about different cultures. I'm looking forward to being part of the integration committee this year!

My name is Job Holtvluwer. I’m 23 years old and I’m Dutch. I’m currently studying history at the UvA. I like to play all kinds of sports and, if time allows, to go to bars/clubs with friends. Next to that I’m also a semi-adequate cook.

Introduction Committee

Join the team that kicks off the semester! The Introduction Committee helps bring the UvA and HvA Introduction Days to life, from planning activities and coordinating logistics to welcoming hundreds of new students. You’ll help create a smooth start and a great first impression for their life in Amsterdam. In the months before, you’ll help research venues, plan activities, coordinate with volunteers, and sort out all the little details that make big events run smoothly. If you love Amsterdam and want to create the most amazing welcoming experience for other students, this is the team for you!
