Not sure what a board year means?

A board in ESN is like a rollercoaster ride of amazing experiences, growth, and friendship.

Your goal is to create an unforgettable experience for international and exchange students.

You’re planning events, managing projects, and working with a team of passionate and motivated people.

You’ll develop skills you didn’t even know you needed, make a bunch of new friends from all over the world, and come out with memories that’ll last a lifetime. It’s challenging, rewarding, good for your CV and a whole lot of fun!

About the positions


As President, you’ll be the go-to person for everything related to the association and carry the final responsibility for the organisation. Your job includes keeping an eye on the day-to-day stuff, making sure the plans and rules are on track for now and later and managing the team. You are also the contact person for student associations, the universities and other external stakeholders.  Also, you support the Treasurer in the tasks.

You’ll handle the admin work, ensuring everything’s in tip-top shape. Get ready to plan board meetings, where you’ll also play a key role in capturing all the important points as you take minutes. There’s also the fun part – organising the Constitution Drinks, a must-attend for everyone! Plus, you’ll be the go-to person for ensuring all board members are feeling great and supported. Last, you’ll be the President’s right-hand, assisting where needed.

As treasurer, you’re diving into the financial side of things. Your tasks include keeping the financial records straight, handling the accounting, and making sure the cash flow is smooth. You’ll be prepping and keeping an eye on the financial budgets to ensure everything’s on track. Plus, you’ve got the important job of managing partnerships. It’s all about the numbers and relationships!

Public Relations Coordinator

Your tasks are all about creativity and reaching the students.  You’ll be crafting some fresh visuals to catch their eye, and you’re the go-to person for hyping up events. Plus, you’ve got the reins on keeping all the social media channels buzzing with the latest updates. It’s all about making sure the word gets out and everyone’s in the loop!

Integration Coordinator

Your role is super important in making sure international students feel right at home. You’ll be overseeing their integration, running the Buddy program, ensuring students pair up and support each other. Through culture and theme nights you bring different cultures together. You’re also in charge of putting together activities that showcase Dutch culture – a taste of local life for everyone! It’s all about building bridges and making connections.

Activity Coordinators

The two of you are the masterminds behind diverse events for students, making sure there is always something to do. Also, you’re keeping a neat catalog of all these events for the ESN network, so everyone knows what’s happening. Plus, you’re the key player in planning and executing the activities during the introduction weeks, setting the tone for an amazing time ahead!
